Item Item

The Power Model
Items are the simulation's non-living entities. Organized by object type, items can take virtually any form imaginable. The simulation designer will use items to connect the simulation's participants to the underlying story when a simple description for the item is not enough to convey its meaning and importance. In MUDzilla, items are in the foreground of the simulation. Descriptions of items embedded within the description of a room may not rise to the level of importance to warrant the creation of an item object, and thus remain in the simulation's background.

Items are imbued with mana pools, linking them to the simulation's power system, while preserving the notion of an artifact or relic, where an item is more than it appears to be. Items can be owned by avatars, as part of their inventory, or by rooms. Items can also contain other items, allowing for the creation of complex devices containing many item objects.

Items are expressed through the TItem class. See the MUDzilla Item Form for additional detail.
