Database Database

The Database Model
A database is a collection of tables, indicies, and other entities needed to manage the data stored in the database. A database server is a software application which manages connections to a database, and provides an access method for manipulating the data within the database. A relational database provides methods for linking togteher data stored in many tables based on well-formed rules to produce customized views of the database, and its contents.

Delphi supports many different database formats and access methods, including the Structured Query Language (SQL), a transaction-based, command-driven data definition and manipulation language. Using SQL, MUDzilla creates and maintains the tables, indices and other database entities needed to form a simulation. The SQL interface itself is provided by the Borland Database Engine. MUDzilla uses the Paradox database format.
